What are the requirements for on-premise Kanban solution?

Kanban Tool On-Site is distributed as a complete virtual machine image in OVA format and as a stand-alone .deb package for 64-bit Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
The only requirement is a modern computer with at least 4 GB of RAM and about 10 GB free disk space, which can run Virtual Box or any other virtualization solution like VMware ESXi or Parallels.

Is there a difference between the online service and the self-hosted application?

Kanban Tool On-Site is the on-premise version of the Kanban Tool service, which you can run and manage in your own, secure environment.
It provides the same unprecedented promise and experience as the online kanbantool.com service, while remaining fully under your control.

The most important difference is that the online version is available via browser or mobile apps and all your data are stored on our servers.
The On-Site version is installed on your servers and does not require access to the Internet. So you do not need to worry about sending sensitive data to the cloud. You need to install it as a virtual machine on your own server and manage updates and backups according your company policy.

Also, Kanban Tool On-Site lacks Internet-based features, namely file hosting services integration i.e. Google Drive, Dropbox etc. This stems from the fact that Kanban Tool On-Site is set to be able to run in a completely web-isolated environment, to keep data as secure as possible.
